Piper Hanson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Chapman University in 2026. During her time at Chapman, she served on the board of the Alpha Mu Gamma chapter of Phi Alpha Theta for two years. She was the 20204-2025 Secretary and the 2025-2026 President. She received the Henley Phi Alpha Theta Service Award in 2026 for her roles on the board. During interterm 2026, she was a Wilkinson Interterm Research Experience (WIRE) Fellow, working with Dr. Amy Buono of the art history department on a research project. Her project analyzed how local and national aviation museums glorify the technology they display. Ms. Hanson has presented her research at the WIRE research showcase, the 2026 Phi Alpha Theta Southern California Regional Conference, and the Chapman Student Scholar Symposium. When she was not on campus, she worked part-time at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and interned at the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum. She continues to volunteer at the Palm Springs Air Museum as well. After graduation, Ms. Hanson will move to Washington, D.C., to pursue a Master of Arts in Museums, History, and Culture at The George Washington University. In the future, she hopes to have a successful career as a curator in an aviation museum.
