    Description

East Lansing, Mich: The pressues on the president of any modern college are intense at best, but the pressure on Clifton Wharton Jr. is something special because he is the first Negro to head a major American university. Wharton is seen here in his office at Michigan State University where he has managed to keep his cool since his appointment last January 2.
