Abstract
Donald Trump, once thought to be a "wrecking ball" for Republicans because of his commentary, is actually doing well in the polls. Prof. Slayton argues that this is because his talk is no different from past Republican presidents, only more blunt and open in its racial politics rather than couched in safer terms.
