Oakland, Calif: Under a Black Panther banner, the casket bearing body of George Jackson is carried to hearse after funeral services at St. Augustine's Church here. Jackson, a convict at San Quentin Prison, was slain 8/21 in an abortive escape attempt at San Quentin, in which 3 guards were killed, 3 inmates slain, & 3 guards wounded. Note part of crowd, estimated at 1200 persons, giving black power salute.`
