Description
Washington: Manuel Ruiz, Jr., a Mexican-American member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, 8/25 endorsed the right of all Americans to choose where they wish to live and go to school. Ruiz, a 61-year-old Los Angeles attorney, was testifying before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on his nomination to the Commission. He has served on the Commission since last year but has not yet been confirmed by the Senate.
