Description
New York: Students wait outside as non-striking teachers hold a press conference at the entrance to Junior High School 271 in the Ocean Hill-Brownswille district of Brooklyn, September 16th. The teacher's union continued its city-wide strike in spite of a Board of Education order suspending the district's governing board whose actions triggered the walkout. The Board and the union narrowed their differences September 16th, but there were still no indications when normal school operations would be resumed.
