Abstract

"A university is a microcosm of our larger society that reflects different beliefs, ideologies, experiences, and backgrounds. While that is exactly what I love about a university community, it also comes with the reality that prejudice lives within our communities as well: we are not immune to the ills of our society. This said, neither I nor the rest of the Chapman administration has any tolerance for racism. As an organization, we have structures, policies and processes in place to fight against it. We also have countless faculty, staff and students devoted to the idea of an equitable society."
