Abstract
In this new adult epic fantasy, the land is either poisoned or poisonous, the Gods don’t listen, and the Silvan High Fae have vanished into the mists of time. In the Silgan Empire in the city of Fall’s End, humans run the Kingdom while Low Fae like Madrigal struggle to make ends meet in the prejudiced caste system.
Living with a group of Low Fae orphans aptly named the Den of Thieves, Madrigal is her lover’s Seb’s blade for hire – forced to do his dirty work for survival, even though her heart beats to a musician’s drum. However, since the childhood death of her mother on the King’s orders, Mads has vowed to get her revenge at any cost, even if it means burning the kingdom, and herself, to the ground.
With rebellion finally whispering through Fall’s End, Madrigal joins up with the charming and secretive Camden and low fae fighters, determined to battle her way to the King. And yet a dark magic wraps its way through the city, and Madrigal must reckon with forces beyond her wildest imagination – to save her found family, kill the king, and to discover the source of the new magic, and stop it before it’s too late.
