Description

Newsmen aboard the crewboat "Ocelot" watch the blazing Shell Oil Co. "Baker" platform burning out of control 12/3 in the Gulf of Mexico, 60 miles south of the Crescent City. The platform has become an inferno since igniting following 12/1 well blowout. Three men of the sixty workers aboard are dead and a score are still hospitalized. Observers call this wellfire worse than the Chevron fire earlier this year. Conservationists say there is still almost no oilspill here.
