Japneet's artwork is inspired by personal stories and memories, real and imagined, that explore themes of home, nature, migration, and community. Her pieces are based on childhood memories growing up in Punjab, including listening to her grandmother's stories, summer days filled with mango feasts, gatherings with family and friends, and planting sunflowers while watching them attract birds and insects. The art explores lived experiences and sprinkles in some magic and nostalgia while honoring the place and language that shaped the artist. Though based on personal history, the art speaks to universal human experiences and connections through storytelling
