Hanoi: Navy Lt. William J. Metzgor, Jr., of Annandale, Va., gives thumps-up sign on a North Vietnamese bus taking him to Gia Lam airport and freedom, 3/4. A North Vietnamese officer temporarily barred Metzger's way but stepped aside to let him board a hospital plane for Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Metzger was shot down 3/19/67.
