Sala Phou Koun, Laos: Laotian artillerymen fire a round from the 155mm howitzer on duty here 3/12 defending the only road link between Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Military tacticians believe this lonely junction of Highways Seven and Thirteen would be invaluable as a North Vietnamese position from which to send supplies to their troops operating inland.
