Description
Col. Harland D. Sanders ('72 photo), who sold his Kentucky Fried Chicken chain to the liquor and food conglomerate Heublein in 1971, 9/11 won a $1-million out of court settlement from Heublin and will continue to retain his $75,000-a-year salary as "Goodwill Ambassador" for the company. Heublin and Sanders countersued each other when Sanders and his wife opened "Claudia Sanders, The Colonel's Lady Dinner House" back home in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and made plans to franchise the restaurant nationwide.
