Subject—Names

Rivers, Joan

Description

Comedian Joan Rivers, in New York to visit her parents and to do some club dates, says the lines that get the laughs are a basic barometer of public attitudes. She said when Watergate first broke, she used gags about it and she was booed. But by Fall, when everybody was talking about Watergate, she got some of her best laughs imitating Presidential secretary Rose Mary Woods' explanation about the tape erasures. Miss Rivers, who is married and the mother of a six-year-old daughter, is author of a new book, "Having a Baby Can Be a Scream," just published.
