Description
As British Ambassador Ivor Richard (R) listens, Soviet Ambassador V.S. Safronchuck asks the Security Council late 7/28 to see to it that all foreign troops were withdrawn from Cyprus and Archbishop Markarios put back in office. In his statement, Richard accused the Soviets of "mischievously" calling the emergency meeting in order to read a propaganda statement.
