Description
San Francisco: Dr. S. I. Hayakawa, President of San Francisco State College, address[es] press conference 10/30 (L) at which time he said militant black students have created a 'reign of terror' in the school's new Black Studies program. Students have forced teachers out of their classrooms & taken over classes for unauthorized rallies & propaganda sessions, Hayakawa said. The new uproar at the college broke out when black militants held a news conference at which Nathan Hare (R - at that 10/29 conference) was proclaimed head of the department in exile. Hare had been ousted by Hayakawa last year.
