New York: Neighborhood youngsters examine damage June 12 following a night of disturbances in the Brooklyn community of Brownsville. Fires burned unchecked until police escorted firemen in. The fire units did not respond immediately because of reports of snipers. There were no reports of injuries, but 8 persons were arrested in the trouble that apparently began when police tried to arrest two men for looting a supermarket.
