Description

Warrenton, N.C.: A helmeted North Carolina Highway Patrolman (R) talks to youths while a vacant house burns in the background. Fifty one troopers were sent into Warrenton 11/16 afternoon to enforce a 6:30pm to 6:30am curfew after police used tear gas to break up a march by black students protesting school policies. The five Warrenton schools remained closed for the seventh straight day. The night passed without incident.
