Promotional poster or lobby card for the 1938 RDO Radio film Breaking the Ice, starring Bobby Breen as a boy who flees to Philadelphia and sings at an ice rink to raise money for his widowed mother [Dolores Costello in the role]. The film also featured Charlie Ruggles, Robert Barrat, Dorothy Peterson, Billy Gilbert, Charlie Murray and Irene Dare, “the world’s youngest ice skater.” Bobby Breen, Irene Dare, Charles Ruggles and Billy Gilbert are on the poster. Academy Award for Best Original Music Score.
