Description

Washington: Members of the Executive Committee of the Building Trades Council 4/19 accepted an invitation to meet with President Nixon at the White House for a 'general discussion.' Nixon once declined an invitation to address 4,000 hard hat workers' delegates to the National Legislative conference of the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Dept. and speaker after speaker denounced the Administration and called for Nixon's defeat in 1972. At the White House meeting are, left to right: Harold J. Bouy, pres. Intl Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers; Undersecretary of Labor William Usery; Frank Bonadio, Secretary-Treasurer Building and Construction Trades; President Nixon; Labor Secretary James Hodgson; and Thomas J. Murphy, pres. Bricklayers, Masons and Plasterers Intl Union of America.
