Description

Washington: President Nixon announced 5/29 that Israel and Syria, working through Secretary of State Kissinger, have agreed to a troop disengagement in the Golan Heights. Details of the agreement were still forthcoming but it was expected that Israel would pull back from the 1967 cease-fire line while Syria did the same thus creating a buffer zone to be manned by the U.N.
