Description

Los Angeles: Police and residents clashed in the streets of the Watts section of Los Angeles last August. In this August 13th, 1965, file photo, police grapple with riot suspects outside the 77th Street Police Station during transfer of the suspects to central headquarters. To mark the first anniversary of the riots in a happier fashion, Watts residents participated in a festival of outdoor music and dancing.
