Don't Dismiss Donald As a Joke
Donald Trump's rise in the polls owes to two factors: he allays fears that America is headed in the wrong direction and that Americans are not good or strong enough to make it in the world anymore with reassurances that America, and Americans, are great, and he passes the blame for current problems to outsiders and weak leaders. Trump plays off Republican worries while easing their guilt, and thus his appeal rises.
