Description

Freedom Hill, S. Vietnam: Handler SP/4 Mildren (CQ) Keith of Hays, Kansas, and his 'charge,' 'Luke,' a $2,200, 90-pound shadow black Labrador Retriever, are members of a 10-canine, 31-man platoon of the 63rd Combat Trackers of the 196th Infantry Brigade. The platoon of country boys and their dogs specialize in walking dangerous ground hunting hidden Communists. 'Luke' presents somewhat of a problem since he likes the VC as much as he does the GIs and is likely to jump up and lick a VC in the face if the handler didn't stop him.
