Gulf of Tonkin: As the more elemental needs of American forces serving at sea are met, so, too, are their religious requirements. Here, Roman Catholic chaplain Cmdr. Robert E. Gately is lowered to deck of escort ship USS Davidson -- operating in the Gulf of Tonkin -- by a Seasprite helicopter after being airlifted from the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany to conduct religious services recently.
