Arab-Israeli Conflict 1969-1975
Athens: Talal Khanatourah (L) and Shafik el-Arid (both file photos) are the two 'Black September' terrorists whom the Arab hijackers of a Lufthansa jetliner forced Greece to release 12/17. The hijackers first shot up a Rome airport lounge 12/17, bombed and burned out a Pan Am airliner killing many passengers aboard, and then forced the Lufthansa jetliner to Athens where they executed four hostages and forced Greece to release the terrorists. At least 35 persons are believed killed.
