Description

Washington: Thousands of persons rallied 2/20 on the U.S. Capitol grounds under leadership of a coalition of civil rights groups to protest administration cuts in federal anti-poverty programs. One sponsor said it foreshadowed a 'long hot summer'. Main target of the demonstration was Pres. Nixon's decision to dismantle the Office of Economic Opportunity.
