Description

Cheverton was formely professor of religious education and sacred literature at Eureka College in Illinois. The Cheverton Trophy, a gift of the Class of 1929, named in honor of this president, is the most prestigious honor for a graduating senior to win. It was during Cheverton's tenure that the name of the college changed to Chapman College in 1934. Cheverton authored the book "A Help For the Day" which began as daily radio spots that he gave to bring optimism and hope to listeners during the Great Depression.
